Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book “The Wool”; the book has 82 chapters
Synopsis
The men and women live in a giant underground silo with various regulations that they believe are in place to protect them from the ruined and toxic world above. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. The floor fans in several episodes spin in the wrong direction, relative to the orientation of the blades.
Spinning this way doesn’t push or pull air
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Need to Watch (2023). The books in the Wool Trilogy are some of the best books I’ve ever read. I was extremely hesitant to watch The Silo because I had a very vivid inside view of this post-apocalyptic world from the books, and I didn’t want to spoil it.
That being said, I’m halfway through season 1 and it’s not like the books in the best way!
The point is that the structure is there, the events and the basics of what the books did are great. However, most of the detailed plot is completely new and embellished and fills in the gaps of things that were hinted at or checked off in the books. What makes me happy is that I kept a distinct version of the books in my head and the show as a new and fun version.
A lot of it was as I imagined
I have to say they did a PHENOMENAL job with the cast and the sets. But the differences set the book apart and that’s what I like. This is probably the first time I’ve been happy that the show isn’t just like the books, but I still really like the show.
