Synopsis
Do you need a lawyer? He runs his law firm in Lincoln and is ready to hit the gas. As he moves through Los Angeles, he takes on cases while balancing a private life that includes being a father and two ex-wives. Originally with CBS for a 2020 series, it was canceled shortly before filming the first episode.

Netflix has now picked up this 10-episode first season, based on Mickey Haller’s second book, “The Brass Verdict.” Mickey Haller has several cars, all with personalized California license plates on legal terms. California personalized plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all Mickey plates have a minimum of eight.
The viewer identifies with the ups and downs of Haller’s legal career
This is the enjoyable first season of the series based on the novels by Michael Connelly. The tandem of David Kelley and Ted Humphrey manages to bring to the screen a gritty story about the intelligent defense attorney Mickey Haller, his colleagues and his family. But his passion for the law and genuine concern for his clients impresses. The film is able to capture his deep humanity amidst his flaws.
The plot is well thought out and quite entertaining
Besides Haller, all the other main characters are connected: Cisco, Lorna, Maggie, Trevor Elliott, Hayley, and even Detective Griggs. The twists grab the viewer’s attention as the drama reverberates. In particular, the way Haller manages to dismantle the magic bullet by linking one crime to another and using it in the trial is ingenious. Serious students of criminal law and procedure will definitely appreciate the law and the free education it provides.
Play the second season
We can’t wait to hear more about the life of Haller and the company.
